Mauldin, SC (PRWEB) August 31, 2012
The Bolz Gallery, a fine art studio in Mauldin, South Carolina, recently announced a Tuscan Oil Painting series that was inspired by a recent trip to Tuscany, Italy. This series of 40 original oil on canvas paintings at the Bolz Gallery depict the street life, scenery, bridges and architecture of Tuscany. Other original pieces of Mr. Bolz's Tuscan inspired oil paintings are now part of private collections in homes throughout the Carolinas.
The Tuscany series artist, Hans-Peter Bolz toured Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, the rural countryside and other villages and landmarks in the Tuscany region. The pieces in the Tuscan series reflect Mr. Bolz's experiences and the scenes of each area.
"One day we took a trip through the rolling Hills of Tuscany and had a wine tasting and some simple but good food," said Hans-Peter Bolz, owner and artist at Bolz Gallery. "Another day we visited San Gimignano, with its high towers, numerous galleries, and outdoor cafes. I took a lot of photos for references to paint later in my studio in South Carolina."
Mr. Bolz went on to describe the art and architecture of the Uffizi Museum in Florence and the impressive architecture of the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio bridge. He also saw Michael Angelo's David and other sculptures at the Galleria del la Academia.
The distinctive oil paintings in the Tuscany series include a painting of the exterior of the Uffizi Museum, which features the columns and carvings of the architecture, as well as the street life with tourists and local artists displaying their work. Another painting, titled Front Door, is an intricate still life of stonework, carved wood and architecture of an entryway in Tuscany. Other works in the series showcase the arches, streets, restaurants, and rolling countryside and capture the daily life of the people of Tuscany.
