New York, New York (PRWEB) August 31, 2012
As the New York startup scene grows, many people are interested in learning more or potentially becoming a part of the burgeoning tech scene.
But is it a truly a viable option to Silicon Valley?
After a six-month study during its rebranding, intelligent iT learned that New York start ups have been raising significant capital and attracting high profile investors and talent, making it the location of choice for new businesses. Catering to startups, iT firm intelligent iT has been studying and working with this culture and has become deeply embedded in the startup scene.
Here are a few facts that demonstrate the New York tech scene is poised for growth.
According to Mashable between 2007 and 201,1 New York City-based startups rose 34%, while deals in Silicon Valley declined 7% and those for the country overall dropped 8%. The community is also growing as meetups like the NY Tech Meetup’s membership has grown 30%.
In addition to the community becoming more involved in startups, Mayor Bloomberg’s commitment to growing and attracting new talent to the city is evident as he continue initiatives such as mappedinnewyork as well as building a tech campus slated to be completed in 2015 on Cornell’s campus on Roosevelt Island.
“As an iT provider to many startups in New York City, we are really beginning to see a shift in the way the island does business. Flexibility and scalability is important because we have seen a startup go from 40 clients to 4,000 clients with one great press mention. We are always there to plan for and accommodate that growth” says Manuel Ruiz the CEO of intelligent iT.
