A timely, sensible book by an author who has cogently translated her thesis into both practical analysis and inspiring wisdom, A KNOWING Is An Issue Of Life will become a boon companion to those whose lives are plagued by trials and tribulations. Dr. Elmyrra Foster, through careful articulation, with the savvy born of academic discipline, and an expertise developed by experience has perhaps written a definitive guide for people whose circumstance disables their capability to differentiate between the purity of God’s laws and sacraments and the baseness of the temporal order.

Although the former may sometimes necessitate the later, Dr. Foster finds out for her audience how to diagnose and treat themselves of the many modern dilemmas or “issues of life” that they have been burdened with. She does this in a manner that makes readers naturally help themselves without too much ado. It is with the non-judgmental and non-invasive terms that the author is so adept at using that people will find themselves on the way to being healed or reformed or changed before they realize that they have decided to do so.

Among the subjects the author focuses on is the sanctity of the marriage bed and rape (both the physical one and the more common (unidentified or unadmitted) psychological one).    The cleansing goes beyond soap and water (although this is a common intuitive reaction). God’s Spirit must be fanned inside a person to full flame such that any baseness that has entered his or her system will be naturally “burned” by this flame. Only the eternal things, like nuggets of indestructible gold, will go through this defining and protective fire. Thus purity of heart and mind may be maintained, a victory and a mastery over life, and it is entirely achievable within the limits of the term that God has designated for each of the flock here on earth. The answers, in Elmyrra Foster’s ministry, are easy to find even for the most discriminating. Such are the opulent or enriching rewards of this book.

This book will be featured at the New York Library Association Book Exhibit in Niagara Falls, N.Y. on September 25 – 28, 2013.

About the Author
Elmyrra Foster was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 20, 1942. She is the mother of six children, adopted mother to three, and extended parent to four others. Her parents were her heroes. Both are deceased, but the wisdom, guidance, love, and compassion for her, her siblings and others have guided her life and helped me get to this day. They were not perfect, but they were the greatest people in the author’s life. They shared their life with her – the good times, bad times, mistakes, bad and good decisions, through decades of growth, their desires, and failures with their children. To Ms. Foster, this created a richness in life. This richness has enabled her to avoid pitfalls, to not make the same mistakes as they did. She had become expert in the path and she could read the invisible detour signs very well. The lessons my parents paid for in their journey of life, she didn’t have to purchase. Their wise council created a vast knowledge of “The Issues of Life” because of their “Golden Nuggets.” To both of them, Mable Hayworth and George Foster, is dedicated the wisdom of this book. They have been and are the author’s best friends.
