New bronze sinks are available from MR Direct, and they deserve serious attention. The golden finish that has been applied to their 956, 957, 959 and 961 models adds a touch of richness to the already stunning bronze sinks. Since this gold finish differs from the typical antique patina that is applied to MR Direct’s bronze collection, it will not naturally change over time. The rich golden hue and charming sink shape will add beauty to any bathroom.
With a natural patina, a bronze sink will naturally turn colors over time. When MR Direct’s classic bronze sinks are made, a patina is used to cover the surface of the sink. Since these patinas are “live,” they will change over time to reveal different varieties of bronze coloring. The models in this new line of gold-bronze sinks contain no patina, but are sealed with a golden finish to accentuate their design and details.
Although this finish differs from the classic bronze patina, the construction and quality remain the same. Never made from a resin blend, MR Direct’s bronze sinks are cast from pure bronze to ensure every sink is as durable as possible. The bronze is melted and poured into a mold where it sets into the mold’s shape. After it is cooled, the bronze sink is hand polished and coated with the golden finish. Since each sink is hand-cast and polished, no two will be exactly alike.
The bronze sink models that are currently available with a gold finish include the 956, 957, 959 and 961. The 956 Gold Bronze Vessel sink is an oval-shaped basin with an offset drain hole. It’s dimensions are 19 ½” x 13 ¼” x 5 ¾” and it will fit in a sink cabinet with a minimum length of 21 inches. The 956’s classic shape is contrasted by the unique shell features of the 957 Gold Undermount Bronze Sink. The dimensions of the 967 are 23” x 16 ¾” x 6” and it will require a minimum cabinet size of 24 inches. Also paying homage to the sea is the 959 Gold Bronze Vessel Sink that is encompassed in decorative waves. The dimensions of this sink are 19 ½” x 16 1/2” x 8 ½” and it requires a sink cabinet with a minimum size of 24 inches. Lastly, the 961 Gold Bronze Sink mimics slate rock for a more “earthy” feel. The dimensions of this sink are a little larger than the others at 27” x 17” x 4,” and a 27” minimum sink cabinet length is required.
