GTA5 May Be Pushed Back To 2014

More fuel has been added to the Grand Theft Auto 5 release date bonfire. It seems that the game may be delayed, a lot. According to Take-Two, it's likely that the delay may see the game get released in the fiscal year 2014. Mike Hickey of Janco Partners made this prediction to Nowgamer: “We suspect both GTA V and Bioshock Infinite could realistically slip into a fiscal ‘14 release period,”

Dan Lim, editor of GTA5release.org, found that Take Two had a slightly different forecast, with very high revenues projected for the fiscal year 2013. This means that the release of GTA5 will be in the fiscal year (between April 2012 and March 2013).

Dan found a graph made by a guy that decided to plot the amount of time that each version of GTA took to be released after it's trailer came out. The data is somewhat revealing.

Here are the number of days for each of version of the game:

•     Grand Theft Auto 3 – 344
•     GTA: Vice City – 138
•     GTA: San Andreas - 240
•     Grand Theft Auto IV - 371
•     GTA IV DLC The Lost And The Damned – 364
•     GTA IV The Ballad Of Gay Tony – 157

So, according to his projection, if Grand Theft Auto 5 were to follow a similar pattern, it will be released between 291 and 400 days after it's trailer was released. This means it should come out between October and November this year.
