The American Filtration and Separations Society(AFS) will be offering a day long training short course on the “Fundamentals of Gas and Air Filtration” on October 15, 2012 at the Embassy Suites Hotel Airport in Philadelphia, PA.
The “Fundamentals of Gas and Air Filtration” short course is perfect training for those who work in the filtration industry and want a strong basic understanding of the principles of air and gas filtration. It is ideal for filter distributors, customer service representatives, sales professionals and engineers looking to have an edge in the filter industry.
The course gives an overview of gas and air filtration with discussions on principles of particle capture, filter performance, filter testing, fibrous filters and membrane filters.
Properties, such as particle size, particle density, particle charge and particle shape are covered in the course. Surface and depth filtration are reviewed and compared.
Particle capture mechanisms such as diffusion, interception, inertial impaction, gravitational sedimentation, sieving and electrostatic effects are covered.
Factors that affect particle capture and filter operations are discussed, like filter thickness, porosity, electrostatic charge, chemical composition, particle size, gas velocity and pressure.
This course is an 8 hour program that starts at 8 AM and concludes at 5 PM with a break for lunch. Attendees receive a CEU certificate good for .8 credits.
The instructors for the course have a combined experience of over 100 years in the industry. This is an excellent opportunity to network with some of the top experts in the field of filtration and separation.
