Brentwood: Brentwood in Essex has seen an increase in new companies during the second quarter of the year. There have been 161 new companies formed during the period, more than any other second quarter on record for the area. The figure smashes the previous record of 128 new companies formations set during the second quarter of 2011.
Brentwood is regarded as one of the most affluent areas of the UK with 79% of the towns properties owner-occupied and 40% of households owning two or more cars. It’s proximity to London could be a factor in the prosperity of the area, with a high proportion of residents working in the London’s financial sector.
Despite tough economic conditions, Brentwood has continued to thrive, with the High Street undergoing a successful redevelopment project in 2009. Several large business headquarters, including Ford and property developers Countryside Properties, are located in the town, bringing high quality employment to the area.
Managing Director of Duport.co.uk, Peter Valaitis said:
“Brentwood has a solid economic base, excellent employment opportunities and transport links to the capital that are second to none. Business start-ups are wise to locate here, the town has unique assets that will be invaluable to new companies.”
The record number of new company registrations during the second quarter of the year reflects a high level of business confidence in the area. Despite a difficult economic climate, business growth in Brentwood shows no signs of slowing.
