Author Kyle Johnson Says Ostriches Can Help Children Become Confident

A new book, titled Hank Higgins Presents: My Ostrich Race, provides a positive life message while cleverly educating children about ostriches.

Author Kyle Johnson has authored a smart book for children who are ages two to seven years old. The board book, Hank Higgins Presents: My Ostrich Race, subtly teaches kids the importance of self-esteem and being positive. The book also entertains with fun rhymes and striking illustrations.

Hank Higgins Presents: My Ostrich Race is available on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com for under ten dollars. The sixteen page book is also available as a free PDF download at http://www.OstrichStory.com. The book, told in the first person by the ostrich Hank Higgins, was designed to improve a child’s reading ability by using crafty rhymes that are complimented by child-like illustrations.

Hank Higgins Presents: My Ostrich Race, Champion Thinker is the first book in what is intended to be a series. The story revolves around Hank Higgins’ race against his fellow ostriches to win a trophy, ostrich feed, and his owner's glory. The book was self-published in 2010. Author Kyle Johnson is re-launching the book's media campaign in time for the 2012/2013 school year.

Kyle Johnson wrote and illustrated Hank Higgins Presents: My Ostrich Race, Champion Thinker. When he is not writing or drawing, Mr. Johnson donates his time as a volunteer at the Los Angeles’ Memorial Branch Library’s youth reading program. Mr. Johnson has donated copies of Hank Higgins Presents: My Ostrich Race, Champion Thinker to the Beverly Hills library, the Fairfax Branch library, and to Vista Del Mar which is a non-profit agency based in the heart of Los Angeles, CA.
