Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) September 01, 2012
Ninety eight percent of all registered patents never make it to market and only 3 out of 5 of every 100 patents are actually successful (http://www.inventionstatistics.com). Brooks & Baker, LLC are proud to be in the 2%.
In 2004, Brooks & Baker, LLC signed a 5 year, worldwide licesning agreement with Flambeau, Inc., a large plastics manufacturer in Ohio, for the Night Ranger Trademark and the Night Ranger TM LED lighted product line of chests and boxes. The products licensed were "The Lighted Fishing Tackle Box" which grossed close to a million dollars and was sold successfully here in the U.S. and in 15 other countries including distribution in foreign government agencies. Other products licensed by Flambeau, Inc. but were never marketed are "The Lighted EMS First Aid Chest" (Paramedical & Retail Markets), "The Lighted Automotive Tool Box" (Automotive Manufacturers & Retail) and "The Lighted Utility Chest" (Power Companies).
These boxes are unique as the LED torch lasts an amazing 10 years (150,000 hours) and consumes a very low battery life being tested at 120 hours of contineous burn. The light source is mounted in the lid of the box making it totally "Hands Free". The patent claims on this line of products are extremely vast making the lighted chest applications unlimited, ranging from Lighted Ice Chests, Cosmetic Boxes, Toy Chests, Jewelry and Crafts chests just to name a few.
The patented product line and company was conceived from start to finish by Todd C. Baker and Penny Brooks. The entire project was self financed since 1997. They directly participated in contract negotiations with the manufacturer, prepared business plans and patent searches, designed and patented the LED light source and product line, prototyping the inventions with a professional manufacturer, created the Night Ranger Trademarked logo as well as designed Night Ranger's Official web site. They're direct contact within the televised news media resulted in the products featured on ABC, NBC, FOX and UPN news telecasts. Brooks & Baker also obtained free advertising in national magazines and newspapers as well. Their backgrounds before embarking on this project were quite diverse. Todd, originally from the State of Washington, majored in Business & Marketing at the University of South Carolina and graduated in 1980. He later was employed many years as a food broker before partnering with Penny in 1997. Penny, originally from West Virginia and a coal miner's daughter was employed by Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale, Ca. in the Human Resources Department for over 20 years.
The company's current goals are to license or sell the Night Ranger Trademark/product line to investors, manufacturers and marketing companies and take it to the maximum level. Markets of interest would be presentations to the GSA (General Services Administration), City and County government agencies, auto manufacturers, catalog exposure in SkyMall etc., retail and televised Home Shopping networks as well as TV Talk Shows, televised commercials, infomercials and book publishers.
Brooks & Baker, LLC has mentioned that it will listen to any offer in regard to the sale/licensing of patent # 6,267,484 (Patented in 2001) and patent # 7,055,983 (Patented in 2006) and/or The Night Ranger Trademark.
