We can standardize our expertise on a single platform while having greater control over building and managing studies.
(Waltham, MA and Brisbane, Australia) (PRWEB) September 04, 2012
OpenClinica, LLC, the provider of commercial open source clinical trial software announces that the Clinical Trials and Biostatistics Centre at the University of Queensland School of Population Health has selected OpenClinica Enterprise as their electronic data capture and clinical data management platform of choice.
The Queensland Clinical Trials & Biostatistics Centre (QCTBC) at the University of Queensland was founded in 2009 to provide high quality research infrastructure that adheres to strict international regulatory requirements. The group manages multicenter and multinational clinical studies and provides services for the design, protocol development, setup, database development, database management, statistical analysis and reporting, as well as the general management of clinical trials in a range of disease areas.
“Given the diversity and complexity of our clinical studies, OpenClinica was a natural fit,” said Dr. Sanjoy Paul, Director of the QCTBC. “It allows us to cost effectively undertake a wide range of projects on a robust, regulatory compliant data capture and data management system. We can standardize our expertise on a single platform while having greater control over building and managing studies.”
As commercial open source software, OpenClinica is provided in two editions: the freely available OpenClinica Community Edition, and the commercially supported OpenClinica Enterprise Edition. The software is web-based, with a modern architecture and support for leading standards. More at http://www.openclinica.com.
According to Ben Baumann, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at OpenClinica, LLC “Our model provides inherent flexibility that makes it possible to operate more efficient, lower cost clinical studies, while meeting strict regulatory requirements. We are excited to be working with the QCTBC.”
