"I think people will be interested to know that he is here with us." - Michael Diennor, General Manager at Hawthorne Inn
Berlin, Connecticut (PRWEB) September 04, 2012
Hawthorne Inn, an established restaurant on the Berlin Turnpike in Connecticut, has had a new member join their team. Eric Baldridge, formerly the head chef of Michael Jordan's Steakhouse at the Mohegan Sun Casino from November 2004 to November 2008, is the new Executive Chef at Hawthorne Inn in Berlin, CT. Chef Baldridge's resume extends far beyond Michael Jordan's Steakhouse, however, having attended Diablo Valley College for Culinary Arts/Restaurant Managment starting in 1995 and having held several prestigious culinary positions since then and now. "We're glad to have him," says Michael Diennor, the General Manager of the Hawthorne Inn restaurant, "and I think people will be interested to know that he is here with us."
Originally, the Hawthorne Inn was a two story pegged beam structure constructed over a hundred years ago. It was turned into an inn during the mid 1930s and made a good place to rest for people traveling between Boston and New York. The restaurant is so named due to this fact, and due to the Hawthorne tree that once grew in front of the inn. During the expansion of the Wilbur Cross Highway in 1940 the tree was removed, and the inn was moved back away from the road on top of what is currently the first floor dining area.
As the demand for more banquet areas and private dining grew during the late 1950s, the various lodging quarters were converted into the banquet halls and reception rooms that they are today. Though no longer offering lodging, Hawthorne Inn remains one of the major central Connecticut lobster restaurants.
Currently in the process of being elegantly remodeled, the Hawthorne Inn has a mix of classic architecture and contemporary design. For years now, and especially thanks to the recent addition of Eric Baldridge as the Executive Chef, the Hawthorne Inn restaurant in Berlin, CT has been a favorite of locals and travelers of all appetites. They are famous for their prime rib and are also known to be a great value lobster restaurant in Connecticut.
