The MantaroBot Communications Service allows our customers to expand the capability of their preferred teleconferencing systems.

The MantaroBot TeleMe is a remotely operated mobile telepresence platform that uses a tablet’s camera, display, microphone and speakers to comprise the telepresence robot “head”. When initially released the TeleMe was available with Skype™ providing the audio and video telepresence experience. However, customer demand has prompted Mantaro to expand the platform to allow use of any telepresence system that is available with a compatible Tablet App. Mantaro’s launch today of a cloud based robot control service makes it possible for the user to remotely control the robot independently of their preferred video teleconference application. “The MantaroBot Communications Service allows our customers to expand the capability of their preferred teleconferencing systems to include mobile telepresence utilizing the TeleMe.” said Jeremy Parsons, CEO of Mantaro.

The MantaroBot Communications Service is a cloud based packet communications service that allows the remote user to drive the TeleMe, pan and tilt the tablet “head” and turn the laser pointer on or off using the MantaroBot Controller application. The video teleconferencing application is completely independent of the TeleMe control communications, allowing IT administrators to provide a secure channel for the audio/video conferencing application. There is a $30 per month charge to use the MantaroBot Communications Service. TeleMe users that utilize Skype for audio, video and control will continue to incur no monthly charge.

The MantaroBot TeleMe is currently available with tablet holders for the iPad2, iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Other tablet holders may be available on request. Available options for the TeleMe include motorized pan, docking station, and an aimable laser pointer. The TeleMe is controlled by the remote user using a Controller Application that runs on either a Mac or PC.
