Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) September 01, 2012

Los Angeles, California – Children of the Night appreciates the support of Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi, co-founders of No More Poverty. Children of the Night was founded in 1979 by Dr. Lois Lee and it is the first established and only comprehensive program to help young victims of sex trafficking in North America. Its 24/7 hotline, shelter, and education programs are internationally recognized as a premier child rescue and education operation.

“Many of our kids go on to earn four years degrees and enjoy full and successful lives,” says Dr. Lee, founder, of Children in the Night. “Our new program Children of the Night WOW (With Out Walls) will take our programs and services nationwide to reach thousands more American children to stay off the streets. All this is possible thanks to the generosity of people like Michael Omidi, MD and Julian Omidi and their charity No More Poverty.”

About Children of the Night
Children of the Night is a privately funded non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing America's children from the ravages of prostitution. It is the first established and only comprehensive program to help young victims of sex trafficking in North America. For the first three years of operation, more than 250 child prostitutes passed through the two-bedroom apartment of founder Dr. Lois Lee. With a grant from the Playboy Foundation, she was able to buy food for the children and turn her home phone into what would become the first nation’s sex trafficking hotline. In 1992, she opened the internationally-recognized Children of the Night shelter which receives child prostitutes ages 11-17 from across the United States. The shelter accommodates up to 24 residents at a time and provides an on-site school, individual case management, wholesome recreational outings, and a chance to experience a childhood free from sexual exploitation.

Children of the Night’s 24-hour hotline receives more than 10,000 calls a year and it is the only nationwide hotline staffed by specially trained and skilled child care workers. The organization funds the taxi or airline transportation of a child to the facility at all hours of the day and night. All Children of the Night services are free - supported by private donations and are not reliant on state, county or federal funds.
