The South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) have reached an important milestone this week with the signing of a contract with PB Web Development, officially marking the start of the revamping of their website, a project funded by the European Union under the 10th EDF.

Australian company PB Web Development, winner of the SPTO Website Tender, will be led by company Director Peter Bui who says their aim is to build an award winning website for the organisation.

“We are very excited about this project”, says Creative Director Martina Kocian.

SPTO E-Marketing Specialist, Pauline Benson, the Activity Coordinator for this project says the website will strengthen online marketing at both the regional and national levels for the National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) and be a powerful tool for its members.

“This is one of my bigger projects under the EDF10 and this week marks an important milestone not only for myself but for the SPTO and our members.”

“The entire membership of the SPTO are going to see great benefits from this website and it will also enable us to promote some very exciting destination marketing campaigns for the region”, says Miss Benson.

As part of their visit, the consultants gave a presentation to the SPTO staff on how they envision the revamped website will look and feel, including ideas for social media campaigns.

“It was very informative and made me look forward to the new look website. It should be very exciting”, says SPTO staff member, Esther Morrel.

The project, funded by the European Union under the 10th European Development Fund (EDF10), is part of the Pacific Regional Tourism Capacity Building Programme (PRTCBP).

The new website will be launched in December of this year.

PB Web Development specialises in web development, web design, social and online marketing and have great experience working with non-profit organisations, working primarily with open source technologies including Joomla.
