“When I met Jane McCormick in 1994, she entertained me with her true Las Vegas stories about being around Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Vic DaMone, Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead and many more famous people,” writes Patti Wicklund, co-author of “Breaking My Silence: Confessions of a Rat Pack Party Girl and Sex-Trade Survivor” (published by iUniverse). “As time passed, I listened and soon I learned that these friends were more than friends; they were her ‘high class johns.’”
Explicitly written, “Breaking My Silence” graphically details the concrete, truthful facts about McCormick's life that began with repeated sexual abuse as a child. These pivotal events led McCormick on an excruciatingly long journey of personal experiences: a teen marriage, giving birth to two children, intense financial hardship, working for a pimp, prostituting for the rich and famous as a “high-class” ’60s Las Vegas call girl and dealing with a mobster threatening to kill her.
Wicklund shares the details of McCormick’s eventual escape to the life she so desperately longed for, supporting and taking care of her two young children. Both women are now empowered to provide all the facts, information, education and resource tools necessary to prevent crimes like these from happening to other young women. They strongly believe that their advocacy role is an imperative factor in petitioning for the implementation of stricter, more severe legal penalties for all perpetrators.
“Tiger Woods is no different from Sam Snead,” Wicklund states.
