Samuel Junghenn founder of Think Big Online said in a recent interview that the new test Google is doing with their Search Engine Results Pages is a wake up call for business owners.

Google has been testing showing just 7 results on the first page of their search results, which is down from the original 10 they have been showing for years. This change is just a test at this point but it has caused a stir around the Internet Marketing industry.

“A change like this is huge for business owners, it makes getting onto the front page of a search engine result even more competitive. Business Owners who have been waiting to get started with Search Engine Optimisation are going to be the worst effected.”

“One of the factors of Search Engine Optimisation is age of a site, the longer a business owner takes to get started the longer it will take them to rank. Now with the number of front page listings potentially reducing this will become an even harder task.” Says Samuel Junghenn founder of Think Big Online.

The change, which Google is testing, not only affects the number of sites ranking but also effects how many search results are shown from a site. Experts who have been trying the new format say that a site is more likely to have multiple results in the top 7 than previously.

“Again this is a two edged sword, for businesses that are ranking this is great news as they got more domination over the search results. For businesses that aren’t ranking this is horrible news as it makes it even harder for them to rank.” Says Mr Junghenn.

While this update has not yet been released publicly it’s a wake up call to Business Owners to get more proactive about their Internet presence. Business owners looking for help, can contact Samuel Junghenn at Think Big Online via his website http://www.ThinkBigOnline.com
