Interactive Procurement Technologies by BidNet (IPT) launches a new version of the Florida Online Bid System enabling local government agencies in Florida to save on procurement costs.
On the behalf of the Florida Online Bid System’s 477 government agency departments, IPT launched an enhanced web site (http://www.floridabidsystem.com) which provides a resourceful online platform for local Florida government agencies to streamline their procurement process and reduce costs, while making it easier for vendors to do business with the government.
The improvements to the updated Florida local governments’ e-procurement system include:
- Community Discussion Forum
- Cooperative Purchasing
- Electronic Bid Submission Capabilities
- New System Architecture
- Contemporary Website Redesign
- Improved Performance Capabilities
Florida local government resources are being stretched every day with ever-tightening budgets. “The enhancements made to the Florida Bid System make it easier for the agencies to optimize their efficiency while cutting costs,” stated IPT Vice President, Dan Ansell. “The Cooperative Purchasing feature is especially helpful to Florida agencies looking to lower costs through aggregated quantities with other local agencies for higher volume purchases.”
In addition to providing the ability to leverage shared resources, the e-procurement system also provides Florida government agencies greater process transparency and makes it easier for vendors to do business with the local government. “Agencies save money and their vendors get centralized access to local government bid opportunities; both vendors and agencies within the Florida procurement cycle win,” Ansell added.
Florida Online Bid System is accepting new Florida local agencies to join the community of county, city and local municipal government agencies already utilizing the enhanced e-procurement process. Scheduled demonstrations are available to government agencies by contacting IPT by BidNet. There is no cost for agencies to use the procurement system, and vendors receive free access to bid documents.
