Gainesville, VA (PRWEB) September 06, 2012
From September 7th through the 9th, the Lecoq Practice Development team will be presenting “More Patients” Breakthrough Course at Dr. Tod Davis’ Gainesville office.
The course is designed to break down communication issues between vision therapy offices and patients, parents, educators, and other professionals. It’s also been designed to provide tips and strategies for expanding vision therapy practices. Thomas and Amee Lecoq, founders of Lecoq Practice Development, will be presenting the course.
“Oftentimes we find that although we know what our patients or could-be-patients need, communicating that to them is much more difficult,” says developmental optometrist Dr. Tod Davis. “Having a course to help developmental optometrists, vision therapists and even staff at vision therapy offices is a huge help in breaching that communication gap.”
Vision therapy is a series of procedures that help with a variety of eye problems, also known as vision disorders, including strabismus, amblyopia, ocular-motor (“eye-teaming”) dysfunctions, and visual-perceptual (“eye-brain” coordination) disorders.
Getting the word out that there is a treatment for these issues is top priority for the staff at Developmental Optometry & Vision Therapy Services. “With so many children in every classroom struggling to learn and to live life to its fullest because of vision disorders, we need to find ways to better explain what vision therapy is, what the problems they are having are, and how vision therapy is their answer,” says Dr. Davis.
