The Arthrodesis System fills a void in the field to provide surgeons with various intra-operative solutions.

Continuing the focus on unique applications for upper extremity surgery, Medartis has announced the release of the APTUS Wrist Arthrodesis System. The system is designed to address the complexities of limited and total wrist fusions patients with multiple surgical options. A pioneer in low profile, variable angle locking implants, Medartis incorporates the patented TriLock multidirectional (±15°) locking technology in the new plate designs. All plates have screw holes to accept either cortical or TriLock locking screws, creating a solid construct. The variety of plate designs offers the surgeon implant flexibility to help provide their patients a pain free life with as much freedom of motion as possible. The system features anatomically designed plates specific for Four Corner Fusions (4CF), Scaphotrapeziotrapezoidal Fusions (STT), Radioscapholunate Fusions (RSL), and Total Wrist Fusions (TWF).
Members of the design team, Arnold-Peter C. Weiss, MD, Providence, RI, USA and Dr. Michael Sauerbier, Bad Soden, Germany will highlight the technical nuances of the Arthrodesis System at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 7th during the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) Annual Meeting. During Industry Forum # 34 they will discuss insights into the design theory and provide opportunity for collegial discussion of challenging cases. A cadaver demonstration will further demonstrate the product features and sawbones workshops will be available for surgeon participants.
Medartis is proud of the positive feedback of the newly released Arthrodesis System. Norman Eckley, President, Medartis, Inc. explained, “Surgeon reviews of the product have been outstanding! The Arthrodesis System fills a void in the field to provide surgeons with various intra-operative solutions. As an overall organization, Medartis continues to focus on providing solutions to challenging and unique cases.”
