Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) September 05, 2012
Julie O’Brien of Alicare Medical Management (AMM), a national leader in care management solutions that promotes cost savings and client satisfaction, will share her perspective on current health care trends at Dorland Health’s 4th Annual Care Coordination Summit on September 14 in Washington, D.C. O’Brien, AMM’s vice president and chief operating officer, will present during the session “Engaging Consumers in Health and Wellness.”
O’Brien, who joined AMM 10 years ago, oversees all operations for the health care management company, which has offices in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. She provides leadership for all aspects of the AMM 24 Hour Call Center including clinical services, customer service, strategic planning, marketing and product development.
Joining O’Brien on the Summit panel will be Patrice Smith, director of public relations at the national program offices of Kaiser Permanente, and Ashley Reynolds, MSN, RN, ACSM-HFS, health services operations for U.S. Preventive Medicine.
A true industry innovator, AMM introduced a readmission management program for patients last year designed to implement immediate post discharge interventions and decrease readmissions. To support this program and its disease management programs, AMM also introduced texting capabilities with patients to facilitate immediate and ongoing communication between health coaches and patients about their health status.
O’Brien is a registered nurse that holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s in business with a specialty in health care administration. She is a member of American Nursing Association (ANA), American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AACN) and The Massachusetts Emergency Disaster Team.
The Care Coordination Summit, a one-day event, delivers insights, case studies and actionable strategies from frontline leaders working across health plans, hospitals, nonprofits and other points of care that leaders in care coordination can use to improve their practice, positively influence the health of their organization, combat rising cost shares and penalties, and advance the delivery of care.
