Touched by the dedication and suffering of injured Colorado firemen and their families, and the profound losses of victims of the Aurora, Colo. disaster, a physical therapy clinic headquartered 3,000 miles away is starting a relief initiative, funded by its staff and patients.

Clear Passage Physical Therapy®, a network of clinics providing non-surgical, drug-free treatment for female infertility, chronic pain, and small bowel obstruction, will join the American Red Cross in its Colorado relief efforts – a disaster area declared by President Obama.

“We’re starting the fund with $1,000,” said clinical director Belinda Wurn, PT. “We realize this is just a drop in the bucket, so we will augment our initial donation with a $200 contribution from our fees for every patient who books therapy in our Denver-area clinic this fall.”

“Our patients and staff have been touched by the courage and selflessness of the fire fighters, victims and aid workers in Colorado,” said Larry Wurn, CEO of Clear Passage. “We are honored to support the Red Cross as we show our appreciation for these brave men and women, and their families.”

“I get to see life-changing transformations in my patients every day. Now, we hope to help make a similar difference in the lives of those affected by the recent tragedies,” added Michele Forsberg, MS, PT, Director of the Clear Passage clinic in Denver.

About Clear Passage Physical Therapy

Clear Passage Physical Therapy® is a network of high quality physical therapy clinics specializing in hands-on treatment of adhesions, chronic pain, and bowel obstructions, with an additional focus on women’s health conditions – including infertility. Considered unique and pioneering, their work has been touted in medical journals and public media for its ability to bypass surgery. In a recent study, the therapists opened totally blocked fallopian tubes using only their hands – a feat previously thought impossible without surgery. Expanding on those results, they have now developed a program to treat recurring bowel obstruction, a life-threatening condition, non-surgically.

Clear Passage was co-founded by Larry and Belinda Wurn, PT, a husband and wife therapy team. They developed their therapy, the Wurn Technique®, to help Belinda recover from debilitating adhesion pain after surgery. Clear Passage has grown from a tiny clinic with a focus on adhesions, to a nationwide network of clinics treating pain, female infertility and small bowel obstructions. The group treats patients from all over the world, approximately 20 percent of whom are healthcare professionals.

About Clear Passage’s Therapy: the Wurn Technique®

The Wurn Technique® is a hands-on manual soft tissue therapy developed to treat the adhesions that cause or accompany chronic pain, endometriosis, female infertility, intercourse pain and small bowel obstruction. This therapy is practiced exclusively at Clear Passage Physical Therapy® clinics in several U.S. cities, and has been featured in some of the world’s most prestigious medical journals.
