Chestnut Global Partners (CGP) and One Feather Consulting today announce a joint venture providing Native American-sensitive EAP and disease management services targeting more than 1,000 tribal nations and bands across North America. One Feather Consulting brings more than ten years of experience providing EAP services to Native Nations and the Indian gaming industry. Integrating CGP’s communications and back office infrastructure—which extends across North and South America, Europe, and Asia—will support an Indigenous Network of Providers and enable One Feather Consulting to efficiently deliver “culturally-attuned” EAP and disease management programs to Native American and First Nations employees, families, and communities.

The joint venture is an extension of Chestnut’s “glocal” EAP model, which combines central coordination and infrastructure with “in-country” resources, whereby counselors with a deep understanding of local culture and customs interact with the local population. One Feather Consulting team members will train Chestnut’s existing EAP professionals to perform intakes and/or triage in a manner that promotes trust with Native American employees and their families. Included is a work/life module that provides specialized resources to support Native American employees and their families in everything from eldercare to financial planning. The program will also offer a module that applies CGP’s behavior change approach to combat the diabetes epidemic within Native American tribes and bands. One Feather Consulting will continue to utilize and recruit Native American and First Nations professionals, counselors, and trainers to supplement their Indigenous Network of Providers—the largest in North America.

“As a Native-owned EAP, we understand the diverse social structures, traditions, and environmental culture of Native Peoples, and bring a deep familiarity of the issues, dynamics, and what it takes to overcome the barriers to EAP counseling,” said Dr. Rodney Haring, Founder and CEO of One Feather Consulting. “We've long admired Chestnut’s glocal model in providing services to diverse populations—from Brazil to Mongolia—and realized how their approach aligns with ours. This, combined with their world-class infrastructure, enables us to serve the broad range of tribal workforces across North America with the resources and responsiveness of a large EAP, while providing a comfort level of an EAP with roots in their community.”

“One Feather Consulting provides an invaluable service to a diverse population that has historically been underserved and are the first to bring a broad and deep cultural awareness to EAP delivery,” said Russ Hagen, President and CEO of Chestnut Global Partners. “As a Native-American EAP, they are able to overcome issues of historical mistrust, and understand the different environmental contexts—urban vs. reservation based populations—how to read communications cues, and the acute sensitivity to assure confidentiality given that many people on the reservation are related, whether by blood, by marriage, or through social networks. We look forward to working with One Feather’s team in supporting tribal workforces and their families across the U.S. and Canada.”
