enStratus’ approach to configuration management is a pathfinder approach, allowing organizations to use a single mechanism across leading public and private clouds to deliver governance, control, and business agility.

enStratus announced today the latest release of its enterprise cloud management solution that provides the most complete configuration management integration in the industry. This new release enables enterprises to continue to use the tools they already have in place to orchestrate and extend automated deployments across public, private, or hybrid cloud environments.
enStratus supports a variety of configuration management options, including both native Opscode Chef and Puppet, giving enterprises the ability to choose the tools that best fit their requirements and avoid vendor lock-in. This release offers even tighter integration, new capabilities, and an enhanced UI to view configuration management components, while continuing to deliver governance, reliability, and cloud independence across 20 public and private clouds, including 35 public cloud regions.
“With enStratus, users are able to take advantage of fully automated server provisioning and configuration using Puppet in all the leading clouds, along with automated creation and revocation of certificates. We are excited to expand our partnership and continue to deliver added value to customers together,” said Teyo Tyree, VP of Business Development at Puppet Labs.
“Using enStratus provides a method for complex orchestration via deployments of infrastructure using Opscode Chef,” said Bryan Hale, Director of Business Development, Opscode. “The ability to provide full orchestration of the entire application stack is something unique to enStratus, and makes it easy for customers to automate their entire cloud environment.”
enStratus allows developers and operations teams to use Opscode Chef and Puppet as they were designed to be used – without having to modify code or scripts. Any selection from the public libraries of cookbooks and scripts can be added to an existing repository and launched directly from enStratus.
“enStratus’ approach to configuration management is a pathfinder approach, allowing organizations to use a single mechanism across leading public and private clouds to deliver governance, control, and business agility,” said William Fellows, Vice President, Research – CloudScape, 451 Research.
