GreenJobInterview announces the release of its results from a July 2012 video interviewing survey. The results discuss several interesting and compelling facts and conclusions around the growth and popularity of video interviewing. The survey was based on a broad range of companies and industries of all sizes to determine whether, how, when and why they use video interviewing as part of their hiring process.

"Video Interviewing Survey 2012: Trends and Insights" provides a snapshot of current video interviewing usage and practices. The findings include:

  •     Over half the companies surveyed now use some form of video interviewing.
  •     Most companies with over 1,000 employees are using live virtual interviewing platforms while many smaller companies (500 employees or less) are using free Web-based interview platforms, without realizing the security risks involved.
  •     The majority of those who use video interviewing believe it provides a better candidate experience than phone screening.
  •     Over 87 percent of companies that use live virtual interviewing cited lowered travel costs as the main factor for choosing this option.
