Author Desmond Nicholas Bamford invites young readers to the North Pole to meet a group of strange, beautiful beings in a story that celebrates peace, love, friendship and family.

Beekemose” (published by AuthorHouse) is a collection of stories about the peculiar, blue kidney-shaped creatures known as the Beekemose (pronounced beek-ee-mose) who make their home in an igloo at the North Pole.

The stories in “Beekemose” primarily focus on one particular family of the unusual beings. Daddy Beekemose, Mummy Beekemose and Baby Beekemose live surrounded by ice and snow and spend their days fishing and discussing the day’s events over mugs of steaming hot fish soup.

Baby Beekemose is joined by two friends, Seally, a harp seal, and Gully, a seagull, who join him on a series of extraordinary adventures. They find strange objects in the ocean and delight in finding all manner of things including a “singing whale-box” that’s actually a piano and a dustbin lid that Baby Beekemose wastes no time using as a sled across the ice.

“The stories of the Beekemose will inspire and gladden the hearts of children while also appealing to all ages,” Bamford writes. “It will fill your mind with wonder and awe of Arctic landscapes while being filled with humour and encouraging traditional values.”
