As a company with 14 years’ experience in the design and development of websites behind them, AWD have been working on improving their already easy to use, bespoke Content Management System which has been a feature of their content managed and e-commerce websites for the last 7 years.
The latest and most radical improvements AWD have made to their CMS in the past few years provide rich features while maintaining an outstanding level of usability that their customers have become used to.
“Now in its 4th generation, past experience and the use of HTML5 means Konnex is our best CMS yet” said Richard Stangroom, Managing Director at Advanced Web Designs Ltd. “Knowing we were onto something special with our CMS, we felt that we needed to create a brand for it. We always express to our customers how the business, website and CMS connect as one system, so the name ‘Konnex’ was an obvious choice”.
Existing functionality from previous versions has been improved with new HTML5 driven ‘drag and drop’ feature, data archiving and image editing tools being added, all of which are backwards compatible with older browsers.
Other new functionality that has also been introduced in this version as the result of changing markets during 2012 include: Social Media integration and fantastic support for the content management of websites from mobile devices such as phones and tablets.
For the first time, AWD has paired up their CMS with ‘cPanel’ the leader in server management software. Now customers will be able to manage their email accounts, see visitor statistics and monitor their hosting bandwidth all through their CMS; as well as a range of other features offered within cPanel.
“As a developer it is exciting to create a system that really is a cut above any other CMS on the market today” said Gareth Handa, Head Developer at Advanced Web Designs. “HTML5 is a great technology and its use within our new CMS will astound the web design industry and be hugely advantageous to our customers with content managed and e-commerce websites”.
Konnex will be available to AWD customers in 4 versions, with each being customised uniquely for their individual customers:
AWD Konnex CMS will be available to all new AWD customers in Q1 2013, with other versions rolling out during Q2 2013.
As Konnex becomes more popular and its use in other markets is more apparent, AWD will continue to rollout tailored versions of Konnex to other industries in the following year.
