It's becoming increasingly difficult for these industries to purchase keyword phrases such as; air knives, heat guns, and pharmaceutical filters.

The restrictions that Mary Ann mentions are restrictions on terms containing guns, knives, and drug related keyword phrases that are banned at many general search engine advertising properties. However, these phrases are legitimate terms commonly used in industry.

Much like existing pay-per-click programs, the new pay-per-click model rolled out by Industry2Industry is a self-managed system where an advertiser can sign up and manage his own campaigns. One big difference between this ad channel and others is that it gives the advertiser a generous 255 character description in the ads. This longer description allows the advertiser to describe his offerings in far more detail than the limited 70 characters of other ad properties.

Subscribers to this new pay-per-click advertising channel will find far less competition than the more general search properties. Industry2Industry lists a little over 21,000 industrial companies and draws an audience of about 20,000 visits from more than 2,000 visitors each month. The initial sign-up gives the advertiser $10 in ad budget funds to begin their program - no credit card required.
