September 3, 2012 marks the opening of a new site geared for active-duty military, veterans and other military personnel who are seeking quality educational options for their college programs. This site, MilitaryDegrees.org, will feature military degree options, post military resources and funding resources for various degree programs. With a custom search tool to find military friendly schools and various resource options for active-duty military and veterans seeking college degrees, this site is set to offer a one-stop educational resource.
Jeff Giles, spokesman for MilitaryDegrees.org had a few minutes to sit down and discuss the new website and the various options the website will offer to active-duty and veteran military personnel. “There are several sites that currently offer degree options for the military. Besides generally leading to military friendly colleges or college programs offered online. The problem we found was that many of the sites only lead to the school and option to ask for more information. There is generally no information regarding funding, resources, grants, or other available educational resources for the student. We wanted to change that. MilitaryDegrees.org offers everything the student needs to know about the school, funding options and various resources that will help them obtain their degree goals.”
Though the site is ready to launch there are several expansions in the works that will be announced over the following weeks. These expansions include new school listings, new resources, articles covering basic guide and related information to available degree programs. The site will also include expansions to offer educational guides and educational services for military personnel. The site is adapted to handle active-duty military seeking degrees while working, military personnel who are anticipating entering a degree program within the next year, veteran military personnel and searchable right degree program and military personnel who may already have some college credit hours seeking to transfer the credit into a full two or four year program.
MilitaryDegrees.org will cover the series of degree options including online degrees, add-on certifications for students who have already obtained a degree, two-year degrees, undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and postgraduate degree options. The degrees and schools listed offer not only military base degree programs such as military science, but also offer other degree programs to students who are seeking a career outside of their military training.
