Teknicks is proud to announce the unveiling of the new website for the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD). Six months of web design, user experience optimization, SEO strategy, and web development culminated when the new NCLD.org website went live during the early morning hours of August 28th, 2012. The new NCLD.org provides an entirely new look and feel for users and is testament to the caliber of work both organizations provide.

The two primary goals for the new website were to enhance usability and improve visibility within the search engines. The NCLD website design aims to help parents, educators, and individuals within the learning disabilities (LD) community find the right information to suit their needs, and to improve the donation process on NCLD.org. The improved, user-friendly website now has prominent calls to action; including a browse-by-age and browse-by-stage resource guide, an appealing color scheme, and a fast, seamless donation process. The navigation has been reorganized and optimized not only for the search engines but also with a more logical flow to ensure the user is getting to the right place in fewer clicks. Keeping in mind some NCLD.org users may have an LD, text-to-voice audio and font enlarger functionalities have been implemented to make the content easier to comprehend.

NCLD’s chief of online strategy and engagement, Laura Kusnyer, notes: “Users now have an opportunity to get more socially involved through real-time Facebook and Twitter feeds, as well as comment on topics in the NCLD blog. Seasonal and popular content is now highlighted within a scrolling banner and the most popular content was placed above the fold for easy accessibility and prominence.”

Teknicks has implemented advanced analytics that will capture and measure website activity to help improve visitor satisfaction. This analytics data will assist in discovering new opportunities for NCLD to connect parents and others with essential resources, provide educators with evidence-based tools, and engage advocates in public policy initiatives.
