Mobile Upstart CrowdCall Reaches Million Call Milestone

Disruptive conference call service launches web interface and releases new mobile app with extended features.

Socialdial announces today CrowdCall, the new mobile conference call service handling more than a million calls a month, is now available on the web at http://crowdcall.me and new versions with extended features are available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The new CrowdCall—which enables iOS and Android users to host toll-free international conference calls with up to 20 people without dial-in or pin numbers—now offers calendar integration, audio controls, participant management, recording and archiving.

Rapid Growth

Since CrowdCall became available for download in March, it has experienced 100 percent month over month growth. Currently, it supports more than 50,000 calls a day and more than ten million minutes of conferencing a month.

Usability and Features

CrowdCall users can schedule conference calls, or hold a call on-the-fly at no cost with people in 40 countries. Hosts simply download the app or go to the web site to set up the call. Participants—who don’t need to have the app installed—receive a text message alerting them of the call, as well as an inbound call that connects all parties. There are no long distance or line charges and audio quality is far superior to Skype or other VOIP services, because the calls are made through the regular cellular carriers.

New features in both the web version and mobile app include native calendar integration, recording and archiving, muting, ear muffing, on-the-fly attendee addition and attendee dismissal.

Flexible Pricing

Users receive 500 free minutes per month to 40 countries, or can select from three premium plans: $9.99 for 1,000 free minutes; $49.99 for 10,000 free minutes; or unlimited calling to 40 countries for $99.99. All calls are toll free because the CrowdCall server dials out to all parties, and if a user exceeds the minute allocations, or makes a call outside the free calling zone, a low per-minute charge is required.
