New York, NY (PRWEB) September 06, 2012
New York based walking tour company Urban Oyster has teamed up with Jirau Travel – Cruise Planners to organize a Craft Beer odyssey to the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean. The 7-day sail will be aboard Celebrity Cruise Line’s newest ship, Reflection, and will take place January 26th to February 2nd of 2013.
The craft beer market is absolutely exploding with over 2000 breweries in the United States alone and craft beer consumption is growing at a steady 10% a year on average. Compare that to the shrinking market share of macro beers like Bud and Miller and it’s clear that American taste buds are shifting to craft beer. Urban Oyster is well known for their popular craft beer tours and events in New York City which help to educate people about the ever expanding selection of beer styles and varieties and introduce them to great local breweries. The success of their New York Harbor Craft Beer Sail lead them to conclude that beer and boats went so well together that they decided to expand it to the 7 day luxury cruise market.
This cruise will be their inaugural voyage and Urban Oyster’s own beer expert, David Naczycz, will be leading the group through a number of tasting events including a beer and food pairing dinner and a history themed beer tasting. Additionally there will be an optional tour of a local brewery on one of the islands and guests can plan to raise a few pints with David who will be dropping anchor at Reflections Craft Beer Bar, Michael’s Club, to entertain and educate on a casual basis during the entire cruise.
Along with the Craft Beer attractions, beer lovers will have access to the floating luxury retreat that is the Reflection featuring:
The cruise, which departs from Miami, will be making port in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Philipsburg, St. Maarten, and Basseterre, St. Kitts. Prices for the cruise start at $1127/per person which include all the onboard beer events.
