Job openings in the healthcare jobs sector have seen a steady rise in the past few quarter across the board in the US. This being a highly specialized industry, the demand for skilled professionals can never be over stated. Big pharmaceutical and health care establishments are always on the lookout for individuals for the growing number customers and patients to take care of. Because of the nature of the industry, the workforce is generally a highly competent one to choose from. And the pool of human resources for the sector too is on the rise. This is evident from the increasing number of incumbents seeking health jobs on the internet.
The U.S. Department of Labor considers the health care and social assistance sector in the same category as it is difficult to separate the two most of the time. The entities in this sector are arranged beginning with the establishments that provide medical care, the ones that provide both health care and social assistance, and those that provide social assistance exclusively. This is a sector where the services of only strictly qualified and trained professionals can be availed. In fact, a lot of the standalone industries in the sector are based upon the qualification held by the practitioner themselves. And therefore there is always a sizeable demand for a skilled, relevantly and adequately trained workforce.
The upsurge in both the demand and supply of quality workforce in the healthcare sector such as nursing jobs can be attributed to some tell-tale data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The number of people who found healthcare employment increased to 800,000 in the 4th quarter of 2011, a rise from the 1st quarter figure of 733,000. Another important statistic is the increased rate of earnings for the healthcare sector, albeit marginal, from US $24.11 to $24.12 in a matter of 4 months. For full-time workers in this industry, weekly earnings rose from $685 in the 1st quarter of 2011 to $736 in the 4th. Apart from this, the number of private operators has also increased from 900,939 to 916,646 in a year’s time.
