I want readers to take a new look at life and realize that they enjoy many more opportunities than I had.

“Fibbers Fables – The Other Side of Life, History, Mystery and Humor” (published by Trafford Publishing) is a reflection of the many events that have transpired throughout history, many during the life of author Lyle L. Lawton.
In “Fibbers Fables,” Lawton takes the stories of historical figures that many are familiar with, and adds a humorous spin through his own creative retellings. From Charles Lindbergh, which Lawton dubs “Lindy”, to Thomas Edison and the creation of the light bulb.
Lawton even writes about characters that were important to his life, and might not be known to others at all.
Excerpt from the story entitled, “My Nurse”:
“‘My nurse came to see me the other day and she was quite a sight. She had a huge diaper bag and I asked her if she carried her twins with her. She said No that she carried a few Band-Aids with mustard on them to help her remember that she had left her twins in the Laundromat to get cleaned up because there was a long line at the car wash.’
‘Now let’s get on with this checkup Mr. Lawton. Have you been feeling bad lately?’ ‘Yes, I have been feeling bad, it reminds me of the old days when the Captain told me, Lawton you miss the target every time.’”
“I want readers to take a new look at life and realize that they enjoy many more opportunities than I had.”
