Diet Doc announces a revision to the doctor designed and managed hCG diet designed to help people lose belly fat. Abdominal fat is now known to be more dangerous than overall obesity, leading to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and more.
When losing weight, most people will focus on their waistline first which is the hardest, most stubborn area to lose the fat. But aside from the aesthetics, what most don’t know is that this area seems to be the telltale sign of the state of one’s health according to the Mayo Clinic. Belly fat, also referred to as abdominal obesity, is linked to a number of health problems including: cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and even certain types of cancer according to the Center for Disease and Control.
Losing belly fat is difficult due to the fact that there are two types: subcutaneous and visceral fat. The subcutaneous, or surface-level fat that lines the hips, thighs, waistline is what most have come to know as the enemy. However, it is visceral fat that causes health problems and it is even more dangerous because it is not visible. Even people that are at a healthy weight yet carry some excess weight around their mid-section are found to be at a higher risk of diabetes. Lying beneath the subcutaneous fat layer, deep within the abdomen and lines the organs is where visceral fat resides. It does, however, have a profound role in the production and distribution of hormones and chemicals. In fact, visceral fat is now considered by scientists as an organ because it is fully functional as reported in an article published by the Harvard Medical School. The article also states that in order to get visceral fat and weight under control, a diet of fresh vegetables, fruits and lean proteins are needed and to avoid simple carbohydrates such as breads and pastas.
Diet Doc offers medically-supervised weight loss diet plans that are known to be effective in losing belly fat and even transforming eating habits. A large portion of the diet consists of foods that are high in nutrients and antioxidants, also known as super foods. Diet Doc made their modern day version of a prescription hCG diet simple with most finding it easy to follow, especially with a supportive team that keeps the lines of communication open for their patients to answer and questions of concerns they may have during the program. “Our diet plan was designed to put the body in a state of ketosis, where it uses fat as well as the whole foods, consumed during our program, for fuel instead of the typical SAD (Standard American Diet) diet most have come to know. We found that by giving food a purpose rather than just consuming blindly helps our patients to realize that you really are what you eat. Most come out of the program knowing that food is fuel and the type of fuel you consume will greatly affect they way you function,” says Dr. Rao, Medical Director for Diet Doc.
“Lose belly fat to save your life,” says Diet Doc’s Founder and CEO, Julie Wright. “We’ve long known that this area is an indicator of good or bad health and it is also the area were everyone wants to slim-down.” A personalized diet created by a nutritionist combined with hCG treatments regulated by a doctor seems to be a winning combination for them. “Many of our patients first notice weight loss in their abdominal area within the first week of the program. As soon they see this change, it motivates them to go further.” We are excited to know that our weight loss program does more then just change body composition, in the grand scheme of things, it also works to save lives,” says Wright.
