Neal's 55 August Home Sales Top February

Southwest Florida builder/developer announces continued, record-setting sales success for the month of August.

Neal Communities’ new home sales in August surpassed a fantastic February – when the Lakewood Ranch-based builder/developer sold 53 homes. At the time, February’s sales represented Neal’s biggest month in a decade, only to be surpassed a month later when March saw 61 sales.

The award-winning company has been averaging roughly 45 sales a month this year, and with the grand opening of a new community in Venice next week, the average monthly figure is likely to rise further.

The latest month’s sales top the 18 sales from a year ago August, a 305% increase for what’s normally one of the slowest sales months of the year. Year-to-date, Neal’s sales have jumped 49% — 373 so far in 2012 compared to 251 through the first eight months of last year.

“There are multiple forces working in our favor right now,” explained company CEO, Pat Neal. “First, historically low interest rates have more than offset some of the recent flattening of economic trends.”

“Secondly,” noted Neal, “inventory of both new and existing homes is relatively low right now and third, we offer an array of housing types across the price spectrum in very desirable neighborhoods.”

Continuing to lead the way this year with another 17 sales in August is Central Park, the popular community located in the heart of Lakewood Ranch.

A big boost to Neal’s sales also comes from River’s Reach, the recently redesigned, active lifestyle community nestled along the south bank of the Manatee River. Nine new homes were purchased there last month following July’s re-opening, when buyers snapped up four homes.

The future looks bright for Neal Communities. The September 8th grand opening for Neal’s Grand Palm development, located just east of downtown Venice, can be expected to spur sales through the remainder of 2012 and into next year. And Neal’s recent purchase of 500 lots in Boca Royale Golf & Country Club, located just north of Englewood, should begin contributing to its bottom line in early 2013.

Also adding to Neal’s August sales were seven purchases at Woodbrook in south Manatee County and five in Venice’s Sawgrass community.
