“I am so excited to be opening this new location in Nesconset” says Barbara. “As a certified health coach who loves working with children and families, opening a Swirls and Twirls gives me the opportunity to do what I do best, promote and encourage lifelong healthy choices. And what better way to do that then to provide healthy treats to the people in my community in a fun, safe, family friendly environment.” She continues, “My commitment to encouraging healthy living drives me every day, and so I have decided to make our first day all about supporting the Smithtown Children’s Foundation, a local organization that shares my commitment to helping children and families live healthier lives.”
The Nesconset location is the fourth Swirls and Twirls to open since the successful launch of this chain began with the opening of the first shop in Massapequa Park in May 2011. Ten more shops are expected to open during the year on Long Island, in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and in Connecticut through the recent availability of Swirls and Twirls franchise opportunities http://www.swirlsandtwirlsusa.com/franchise.
As with all of their other locations, Swirls and Twirls will be using Facebook, Twitter and interactive mobile marketing tactics to connect and dialogue with their customers. The Nesconset Swirls and Twirls setting features a vibrant and unique interior, striking architectural lighting, music from a state-of-the-art sound system and free Wi-Fi. It has seven yogurt machines each serving two flavors, with a third handle allowing customers to create a swirled flavor. All premium yogurt flavors are kosher and most include gluten-free, non-fat, low-fat, no sugar added, dairy-free varieties, and are as low as 70 calories per ½ cup serving. The topping stations contain more than seven wet, nine fruit and 33 dry toppings.
“Swirls and Twirls was designed to encourage people of all ages to have fun and get creative while enjoying a healthy snack,” says Barbara, “With all these delectable options, there are endless combination possibilities to create your own healthy treat; your only limit is your imagination!”
After swirling up their own creations, yogurt fans move to a weigh-in station where the fee for their treat is only 49 cents an ounce. From 11am-8pm on opening day only, that price will be 25 cents an ounce (half price). Tables and chairs and a super comfortable couch encourage customers to gather and enjoy Swirls and Twirls yogurt in a friendly, fun, party like atmosphere. All spoons, cups and napkins are made from recycled materials.
Leveraging technology to enhance the Swirls experience, on-site touch screens have been incorporated into every shop. One provides easy access to ingredient, nutrition and allergy information while the other, a 55” live Facebook monitor, allows customers to post status updates and photo’s and see them appear online in an instant.
