Children will enjoy Rayne’s ability to talk to animals and her over confidence personality. I believe many young children would love to have the gift to talk to animals such as their pets.

Elizabeth Rooks’ illustrated children’s book “Rayne: Queen Water Supplier of the World” (published by AuthorHouse) tells the story of a young girl with a big imagination and her quest to become a queen.

Rayne is an intelligent, headstrong little girl with a powerful imagination. Because of her name, she believes she is the queen of the world’s water, and embarks on an adventure to get the animals to recognize her as such.

An excerpt from Rayne:

“One day she decided to go on one of her many fictitious trips. ‘Hmmm,’ Rayne mumbled to herself, “where should I go today?” She decided to walk and see where the road would lead her.
Rayne hopped, she skipped, she ran, and she walked. As she was walking, she met a cow. ‘Hello, what is your name?’ said Rayne to the cow.
The cow replied, ‘My name is Cox the cow. And what is your name?’
She responded proudly, ‘My name is Rayne, your queen, and I am the queen water supplier of the world.’
‘What a silly name for a little girl,’ Cox reacted with laughter. She laughed so hard milk began to spurt out her nose. ‘Hee, hee! Ha, ha! Moo, moo! Why do they call you Rayne, why are you my queen, and why are you the queen water supplier of the world?’ Cox asked sarcastically.

Rooks, a preschool teacher, is certain her book will appeal to young readers. “Children will enjoy Rayne’s ability to talk to animals and her over confidence personality. I believe many young children would love to have the gift to talk to animals such as their pets.”
