Home business is critical to the U.S. economy. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are more than 18 million home-based businesses in the United States. Well-known companies such as Apple, Hershey’s, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Ford Motor Company were all started as home businesses. StartupNation’s competition is aimed at celebrating the most successful businesses in this important segment of the market.

Entries in the 2012 Home-Based 100 Competition are accepted until the end of October. The 100 winners will be published in mid-December 2012. Winners can receive priceless exposure in the media and be positioned to take their business to the next level.
