Having people who focus on drafting estate plan documents work with those who have to deal with the consequences of imperfect wills, trusts, and other instruments provides synergistic professional skills.

San Rafael trust and estate attorneys Timothy J. Chambers and Julia P. Wald announced Labor Day the formation of Chambers Wald, LLP. The partnership combines two established complementary estate planning, trust, and probate litigation practices into a strong legal organization to serve Marin County.

Chambers brings to the firm a focus on probate and trust litigation. He has extensive experience in representing trustees, executors, and beneficiaries in all types of disputes. He has appeared on behalf of clients in a range of matters, including will contests, probate administration disputes, and trust adversarial proceedings.

Wald has provided estate planning service in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 25 years. She is certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning, and Trust law. In addition, Wald has been named a Top Lawyer for 2012 by independent Superlawyers.com. She has received that honor eight times and for the last four years in a row.

“The Real Estate gods are responsible for our partnership,” joked Chambers. He said that the attorneys independently rented adjoining space in their San Rafael office building. It was only after they moved in that they discovered that both firms practiced in the same legal area and that they had compatible passions.

“Julia most enjoys working with people to develop and create the structure for an air-tight estate plan,” Chambers explained. “My practice included litigation and more court representations that become necessary when people don’t engage someone like Julia and her team to make their estate plan.”

“Having people who focus on drafting estate plan documents work with those who have to deal with the consequences of imperfect wills, trusts, and other instruments provides synergistic professional skills,” Wald commented. She sees a benefit both to clients preparing their plans and those who are having problems with existing arrangements. “Together our lawyers and paralegals have a tremendous variety of experience and we can help people who have many different types of estate, trust, and probate needs.”

Chambers Wald, LLP is staffed with three attorneys, two paralegals, and additional support staff. The firm is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, and may be reached at 415. 482.7555.
