According to an ABC News report back-to-school spending was expected to rise. The National Retail Federation predicted the average family will spend around $688 on school stuff all together, that’s up from $603 last year, and a large portion of that is expected to be for clothing. Bargain hunting is still very much in vogue though and parents are looking for more ways to save money on back-to-school clothes. Also part of the same study it was found that 40 percent of back-to-school shoppers would be spending more of their budget on generic or store brand products. Other areas where shoppers will be trying to save; nearly 50 percent said they will be shipping sales more often and almost 25 percent will be making due with last year’s school items.
One growing trend among those who want to save money on back-to-school clothes are “One Price” retailers. These stores advertise one price for all of their products. For example the most popular model for the clothing industry might be the $10 and under model. A pair of jeans might be $10, two shirts for $10, a few pieces of jewelry for $10, etc.
Similar to the emerging popularity of the dollar store, one price clothing stores have benefited in a down economy because more shoppers are looking for better deals on their clothing. Back-to-school shopping is one of the most popular seasons in the clothing industry, and specifically for one price shopping. Typically one price clothing stores secure low price overstocked items, liquidated items, and save by ordering items in bulk, allowing them to sell quality items for less than competitors. Such is the case for $10 Dollar Clothing Stores, which also utilizes a network of suppliers and who sends buyers afield to secure low prices on trendy clothing before the big chain and franchises get their hands on them, or after they have passed on the items, as the case may be.
$10 Clothing Stores is a business development company that covers all core tasks of beginning a one price clothing store along with ongoing business and marketing support without the long term franchise fees. It is part of Discount Retail Store Services which has opened nearly 3000 stores for business owners.
