(PRWEB) September 13, 2012

The City of Rancho Mirage is pleased to officially welcome the upcoming 5th Annual Desert Woman’s Show to the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa, November 17 & 18, 2012. The weekend-long Expo is expected to draw over 5,000 attendees and will shine the spotlight on women’s issues while focusing on improvement and enlightenment in every aspect of life.

The popular event relocated to Rancho Mirage this year to expand the number of exhibitors, seminars and new elements such the Concours Under the Palms car display, the indoor Fashion Stage, the Taste of the Valley with over 20 restaurants, and the outdoor Healthy Lifestyles Stage featuring live entertainment and demonstrations. “The City of Rancho Mirage is delighted that the Women's Expo will kick-off the Valley’s 2012/2013 season with this incredible event at the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa. The two days of displays, lectures, fashion shows, and demonstrations are sure to appeal to women (and men) who are interested in what's new, what's next and what's hot, right here in the Valley” stated City of Rancho Mirage Mayor Scott Hines.

Joining the list of previously announced speakers such as Dr. Drew Ordon from TV’s “The Doctors,” Michael Costello of Project Runway fame, and Reesa Manning presenting a Financial Boot Camp, new lectures include:

  •     Dr. Steven Gundry, director of the Valley’s International Heart & Lung Institute and the author of “Dr. Gundry’s Diet Evolution: Turn off the Genes that are Killing You.” He will discuss his successful weight loss & management techniques on Sunday.
  •     Dr. Rose Backman, one of Canada’s most dynamic motivational speakers will present “The Power of Unstoppable Women” on Saturday.
  •     Elizabeth Harryman, Travel Editor of Westways Magazine and long-time member of the Society of American Travel Writers (since 1978), who will speak on "Where to Travel with the Girlfriends and Why?"

“We are thrilled for the opportunity to showcase our great resort and partner with the Desert Woman’s Show to ensure a phenomenal event,” stated Ross Meredith, General Manager of the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa. “Mark your calendar, you won’t be disappointed!” he concluded.

Sponsors of this dynamic weekend include Macy’s, Cosmetic Surgery Institute, HPE (Hot Purple Energy), Desert Regional Medical Center, Rabobank, Integrated Wealth Management, Time Warner Cable, the City of Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs Life and Agua Caliente Casino Resort.

Advance General Admission tickets are $15 per day, per person and 100% of the proceeds support local charities, including: The First Tee, American Heart Association, Loving All Animals, American Business Women Association, The Unforgettables Foundation and Women Leaders Forum.
