On Wednesday, September 5, TourTech helped launch the 2012 football season at the NFL Kickoff concert in New York City. Touchdown Entertainment tapped TourTech to build out temporary network infrastructure in an empty storefront in Rockefeller Plaza that housed the show’s Produciton Offices. TourTech’s VoIP services were utilized to connect Touchdown’s Executive Producer, who was off site at the Democratic National Convention, to the recodring truck for the live broadcast.
The following day in Los Angeles another TourTech team was helping kick off the new line of Kindle eReaders from Amazon. There TourTech built out the on-stage live demo network and a high capacity wireless network for the the invited press. In an interview after the event Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said, “People don’t pay enough attention to Wi-Fi; it’s a mistake not to pay attention to it.” TourTech’s WiFi network supported over 1000 devices and saw peak data rates over 100Mbps on the event’s primary internet connection.
