The Minnesota Search Engine Marketing Association (MnSearch) brings the Twin Cities edition of "Local University" to Minnesota small business owners and marketers on September 28, 2012 at Deluxe Headquarters in Shoreview. "Local University" is an Internet marketing training event that will concentrate on free resources and Internet marketing methods a business can put into action immediately to be better represented online. The event is presented in partnership with Google, Deluxe Corp., Progressive Insurance and GetListed.org as a part of the national GetListed.org Local University series featuring representatives from major search engines and respected leaders of the local search field.
Google, Bing and many other search engines and online directories offer free business pages and tools that help small businesses get exposure on the Internet, even if the business itself does not have a website. This Internet marketing workshop will explore these and other resources available to small business owners. The goal of the event is to provide actionable advice to business owners on how to improve the online presence of their business.
Benjamin Pingel, a business manager who attended a recent Local University event in Spokane, Washington, said "I was completely new to these concepts, but they were well explained. It was very easy to go to the office afterward and implement everything discussed."
The Internet marketing training event features two half-day sessions (8am - noon and 1pm - 4pm) on September 28, 2012. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet the presenters from Google and some of the nation's top online marketing firms during breaks and the happy hour.
