ASIS International (ASIS), the largest organization in the world for security management professionals, and (ISC)2® (“ISC)-squared”), the largest not-for-profit global membership body of certified information security professionals and administrators of the CISSP®, today announced the addition of a new Career Pavilion taking place September 10-12 at the co-located ASIS International 58th Annual Seminar and Exhibits and the second annual (ISC)² Security Congress event in Philadelphia, Pa. The Career Pavilion, to be held in the Grand Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, will be available to more than 20,000 attending IT and security management practitioners, offering them tools and advice to advance their careers.
Career Pavilion attendees will have the opportunity to engage with professional recruiters, universities and potential employers in both the public and private sectors, while having their resumes reviewed for free. Seasoned experts from the ASIS Leadership and Management Practices Council and the (ISC)² executive team and will be on site each day the Career Pavilion is open to offer career coaching and resume reviews. Experts providing resume reviews include:
- Dr. Bhaskar Dawadi, (ISC)² senior manager of professional programs development
- Dr. Rae Hayward, (ISC)² senior product development manager
- Kathy Lavinder, executive director, security and investigative placement consultants
- Kimberly Scheiderman, lead job strategist, City Career Services

While attendees are enjoying their one-on-one resume critique sessions, executives from ASIS and (ISC) 2 will be on hand to offer professional development advice, while sharing details about available certification programs. Kimberly Scheiderman will also deliver daily career advancement guidance and tips in several information-packed, 20-minute mini sessions. Held each day at 2:00 p.m. EST, the sessions cover timely topics, including:
- Monday: “LinkedIn: Not a Big Hairy Scary Monster”
- Tuesday: “The Resume – It isn’t About Bragging, It’s About Positioning Yourself!”
- Wednesday: “Tell Me About Yourself – Interviewing Strategies for You!”
The Career Pavilion is being held in the Grand Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10 and Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..
