Everyone wins when a car is donated!

Everett, Washington (PRWEB) September 19, 2012

At the end of every month Melody Gibson looks forward to seeing a most important piece of mail…the check from Kars-R-Us, manager of the Operation Lookout Car Donation Program. “The funds we receive from the Kars-R-Us Program are absolutely vital to our mission of providing services to families with missing or abducted children”, says Melody, Treasurer of Operation Lookout National Center for Missing Youth, a 501c3 charity.

According to the U.S. Dept. of Justice, an average of 2,185 children are reported missing to law-enforcement agencies daily. While many of these stories have happy endings, others do not. A quick recovery is critical to reducing the trauma to both child and parent, and the assistance of OPERATION LOOKOUT® can influence how quickly the child is recovered.

Support for Operation Lookout comes from a variety of sources, including individual donors, proceeds from a local Thrift Shop, participation in the Affinity for Charity Give Back Program, and very importantly, the Car Donation Program managed by Kars-R-Us.

Lisa Frank, Vice-President of Kars-R-Us, a Professional Fundraiser that specializes in car donation programs, says “The truth is that everyone wins when a car is donated. The donation qualifies for a tax deduction, but much more importantly the donor is helping support a worth charity! The work Operation Lookout does to educate parents and children about the dangers of child trafficking and abductions, and the work they do when a child goes missing, is a mission that is worthy of support.”

Since January 1, 2005, donors can write off the full sale price of the vehicle when it’s sold by the charity. Lisa says, “The prices we’re seeing for the cars are the highest in years! The charity gets more from each donation, and donors get the maximum tax deduction allowed by law.”
