“Ascom has had an exciting 20 year relationship with this retailer and is pleased to have secured a further 5 year agreement to refresh their estate in 800 stores,” says Robert Wood, Managing Director Ascom UK.

Ascom have previously supplied their Ascom 9d24 DECT phones to the retailer along with their TillDect solution which sits at the till allowing staff to request help at the touch of a button, sending a pre-recorded messaging direct to a store colleague. The Ascom 9d24 phone will now be replaced with a more robust and rugged phone, the Ascom d81, meeting the demands of their busy retail environment.

Ascom understands retailers are under constant pressure to provide outstanding customer service and minimise business costs. With pressures being placed on ways to improve responsiveness and provide greater levels of efficiency, Ascom have helped by enabling Floor Managers, Department Managers and Floor Runners to be easily contacted whilst on the move.

The retailer will also be implementing a WiFi infrastructure in to their larger stores on to which Ascom will be placing their Ascom i62 WiFi phones. By tagging on to an existing infrastructure the retailer will save on costs incurred with placing in a new IP-DECT infrastructure.

The Ascom d81 phone is boasted as Ascom’s most robust phone yet, being able to provide optimal user protection in rugged environments the Ascom d81 is a piece of equipment that can be relied upon. The Ascom d81 features advanced alarm functions like a man-down and no-movement alarms, silent assistance option and alarm prioritisation.

The Ascom i62 phone was launched as the world’s first phone to take advantage of the power of ‘n’ on the 802.11 network, making the Ascom i62 the first phone to handle 802.11 a/b/g and n. The Ascom i62 supports deployment of voice over the network without degrading the performance of an existing .11n network capacity.
