Two-Day Festival Expands Orlando’s Culinary Reach Featuring Friends of James Beard Dinner and 2nd Annual Cows ‘N Cabs Benefiting Two Local Charities and a Culinary School

Following the success of the inaugural Cows ‘n Cabs, which raised more than $40,000 for three local charities, the founders – Dave Larue of ABC Fine Wine & Spirits along with his wife Tina Larue, and celebrated chef and owner of 4 Rivers Smokehouse, John Rivers, have expanded the food and wine concept by creating Winter Park Food & Wine Classic (“WPFWC”).

The two-day festival, produced by Tina Larue, is dedicated to expanding Orlando’s culinary presence on October 26-27 in Central Park-West Meadow (150 New York Ave. Winter Park, FL). Food enthusiasts will see the return of Cows ‘n Cabs, a food-and-wine walk around, along with newly added event Friends of James Beard, a James Beard Foundation tribute dinner.

FRIENDS OF JAMES BEARD – Friday, October 26 / 7 – 10 p.m.
Kicking off WPFWC, the Friends of James Beard dinner will be held under the stars. Limited to 150 guests, all proceeds from tickets will benefit the Rosen School of Hospitality by pledging a $7,500 scholarship donation. Participating chefs include John Rivers of 4 Rivers Smokehouse; James & Julie Petrakis of The Ravenous Pig; Henry Salgado of Spanish River Grill; Kevin Fonzo of K Restaurant; Kevin Tarter of Chef’s Table at Edgewater; Brandon McGlamery of Luma on Park and Jamie McFadden of Cuisniers.

Unique to this evening, guests will have the chance to enjoy a family-style dinner with wine pairings, featuring some of Orlando’s finest culinary talent preparing and plating right before the eyes. To further educate, a James Beard Foundation representative will be in attendance offering guests a chance to learn more about the Foundation and local guitarist Matt Shenk will provide live entertainment. Tickets: $80 per person

2nd ANNUAL COWS ‘N CABS – Saturday, October 27 | 7 – 10 p.m.
The following evening, the tent will transform to a rustic, Western scene set for 250 guests for the 2nd Annual Cows ‘n Cabs benefitting Coalition for the Homeless along with Community Food & Outreach Center, a local charity helping families rebuild their lives through hunger relief, crisis care and educational training. “We are thrilled by the Cows ‘n Cabs effort to once again help families in need,” stated Andrae Bailey, Executive Director CFOC. Wine and craft beer tastings, live entertainment, a silent auction along with gourmet fare from up to 16 restaurants such as Cress, Peterbrooke Chocolatier of Winter Park, mi Tomatina and Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine will be available.

General Admission Tickets: $110 per person
VIP Admission Tickets: $140 per person – grants guest admission to one hour preview and a welcome drink

ALL-ACCESS PASS: OCTOBER 26-27
For $190 (processing additional), guests can savor the weekend with access to the Friends of James Beard dinner and VIP admittance at Cows ‘n Cabs.
