Emcien Corp., a leading provider of pattern-based analytics solutions, today announced that Emcien has been awarded another U.S. patent for its innovative pattern-detection platform. On Sept. 5, 2012, the Unites States Patent and Trademark office granted Emcien its second patent entitled “Demand Modeling and Forecasting for Configurable Products or Services.” Configurable products offer customers choices that create product variations. This is applicable in many industries such as insurance, manufacturing, automotive, telecom and healthcare.

The predictive analytics technology, which relies on historical and real-time customer buying patterns, models the most efficient and cost-effective product and/or services mix that will capture the most customer demand. The solution will then run “What-If” scenarios against the predicted mix to measure impact on existing customers.

“This patent highlights Emcien’s continued investment in pattern-based analytics solutions to ensure we provide strategic competitive advantage to our growing customer base,” said Radhika Subramanian, CEO, Emcien. “With today’s explosion in data, products, and services, companies need automated methods and solutions that can surface the intelligence from the data and recommend the right mix of products/services to better serve their customers while maximizing profit margins. This patent takes the existing technologies’ predictive modeling capabilities to a new level.”
