Brian's songs are an open and honest look at life, and I’m excited to work with him and help broaden his unique sound.
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) September 10, 2012
Nashville-based music producer/mixer Rogers Masson today announced that he will be producing NYC-based pop/rock artist Brian Mackey’s next record. The album, which is due out in January 2013, is a follow-up to Mackey’s 2010 release Honest Love.
“There is a lot of buzz right now around Brian Mackey, and rightfully so,” said Masson. “His songs are an open and honest look at life, and I’m excited to work with him and help broaden his unique sound.”
The album will be recorded in Nashville, Masson’s home production base. The duo promise the end-product will provide a unique and cohesive combination of Mackey’s soulful, folk-infused pop and rock sound with Masson’s outside the box thinking to bring out Mackey’s individual sound and story.
Masson and Mackey will announce their collaboration to fans worldwide during a special Stageit Feature Concert scheduled for Thursday, September 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The live, interactive streaming webcast will allow music lovers to have a sneak peak at some of the songs on Mackey’s new album as well as hear some favorites from his recent album Honest Love. Webcast ticket sales will benefit the Playing for Change Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating positive change through music and arts education. Tickets to the show may be purchased online at http://www.stageit.com/brianmackey.
“This next album is about putting the rose colored glasses on the floor and smashing them with my foot,” said Mackey. “It’s about feeling comfortable with the uncomfortable.”
Mackey’s previously released tracks have been sought out by the film and television industry with songs featured in four recent movie soundtracks and a Disney TV show. In 2012, Mackey has been featured as a Supercuts® Rock the Cut Artist, a Viso Music Feature Artist and a U.S. Airways In-Flight Radio Feature Artist. Mackey was also featured on the Songs of Love for Japan compilation in 2011 alongside stars like Sara Bareilles, Ani DiFranco and Tori Amos.
“We already jive on so many artistic and personal levels,” said Masson. “It’s going to be exciting collaborating with such an amazing singer/songwriter. Once we get in the studio, the creative sparks are going to start flying – no doubt about it.”
Masson has been a sought-after producer and mixer for many independent and signed artists, within a wide spectrum of genres. His work has taken him from Los Angeles to New York and internationally from London to Copenhagen. He has worked with a wide variety of artists including: Vintage Trouble, Marilyn Manson, Day of Fire, and The Mavericks.
