Glencoe, IL (PRWEB) September 13, 2012
Jancy Jerome has begun teaching two regular weekly classes at Reach Yoga in downtown Glencoe: Vinyasa Flow Level 1-2 on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m., and Vinyasa Flow in a new timeslot: Mondays 1:15 - 2:15 p.m. (For full Reach Yoga schedule, see http://www.reachyogaglencoe.com/fall-2012-sched/)
After several North Shore students requested an afternoon class option, Jancy proposed that Reach offer the Monday 1:15 class. The timing is tailor-made for parents who would like to get the kids off to school, get through their enormous to-do lists, and then practice yoga before the kids arrive home. Jancy notes that the class is a full yoga experience, including slow stretching, heat building, standing and seated poses, interesting balances, and a peaceful shavasana ... all in 60 minutes.
One of Reach Yoga's newer teachers, Jancy Jerome, came to yoga after decades of other athletic pursuits. Jancy completed several marathons and triathlons in her 20s and 30s. Finding herself needing more balance and flexibility, Jancy took up yoga. And she was hooked. After practicing for several years, Jancy studied with Suddha Weixler of Chicago Yoga Center and completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program. Today, this experienced instructor enjoys teaching both Vinyasa Flow and Hatha throughout the community.
For Jancy, the benefits of yoga go beyond the physical. She says, "Yoga not only helped stretch my body, yoga stretched into my life. I continue to be profoundly amazed at how transforming yoga can be, both physically and spiritually." The positive benefits of yoga are apparent upon meeting Jancy, who absolutely radiates serenity and strength. Her students benefit from her calming presence as well as her teaching skill.
Jancy is particularly adept at working with students with diverse abilities in the same class. Observing her teaching a class that included over 30 people, a student noted how each person experienced the class at his or her own level.
Jancy is just one of the talented teachers at Reach Yoga (formerly Breathe ... A Yoga Oasis).
